GG Image 5000

Creating new things for old tech is a passion of mine. I found an old school developer who cut his teeth on the ZX Spectrum back in the day (which coincidentally uses the same Z80 processor as the Game Gear).

We developed a way to create Image ROMs, basically a Game Gear ROM that just displays an image. The Game Boy community has had this functionality for years and I thought the Game Gear community needed it as well.

I call our creation the GG Image 5000. It’s a Windows script where all you have to do is feed in an image and it converts it to the right size & color palette and makes it into a handy .gg ROM file.
